Learner's story on TV

The story of how learning helped Michelle Hogarth from Berwick-on-Tweed secure her dream job has been featured on ITV Tyne Tees News.

Michelle had always put her family and home first so after her divorce her life suddenly felt empty.  Standing in the way of her dream was her lack of qualifications. Once Michelle realised that she wanted to achieve more in her life she took the decision to go back into learning. Her new found skills have not only restored her confidence but have helped her secure a job as a residential support worker for troubled teens.

Michelle's story is one of six short films directed by BAFTA award winning director Stuart Urban developed as part of a new summer campaign by learndirect aimed at encouraging people to realise their potential through learning.
