Jacqui Smith MP visits CSV Redditch

Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith MP visited CSV Redditch on Friday 1st February to present certificates to learndirect Learners.

Since Jacqui Smith opened the learndirect Centre in September 2006, over 400 courses have been delivered to the communities of Redditch.  Over 30 people have achieved their first level 1 qualification in literacy or numeracy and the centre currently has over 50 learners on programme.

CSV are now working with several local companies to enable their staff to update their skills.  Several people visit the centre to enrol on their course and then work from home around family and work commitments – during her speech Jacqui said that she felt the main benefit of learndirect and Lifelong learning was the flexibility of the programme and it was always a pleasure to visit CSV who worked closely with all of their learners to develop and enhance their existing skills.
