Security for Users

About the course

Businesses are becoming increasingly reliant on computers - and that makes them an attractive target for "cyber criminals". Security for Users will help you to understand the IT security threats facing a business and show you how to protect the hardware, software and files that you use.

This course is available to suit different levels of ability. So whether you'd like to learn the very basics of computer security or just develop some of the skills you already have, our friendly staff will help you to work out what level you're at and point you in the right direction.

Perhaps you need to learn how to take a coordinated and planned approach to IT security. Or maybe you'd like to know how to set up a firewall to avoid viruses and malware. We can show you how to create user accounts and use password protection. We can also help you to back up and restore files and get a better understanding of Data Protection legislation.

Whatever you're struggling with, doing practise questions and getting plenty of feedback will help you get to grips with any problem areas.
